What's Happening with R/C

Postby huw4027 » Thu Nov 05, 2009 8:42 am

Ok fellas, i will attempt to resurrect this forum that seems to be hybernating and will wake it up. (h) (h)
Well the Ascot track is there and we have good attendance each week and it is open to anybody who wants
to run their offrroad vehicle or just come and hang with us. (T)
What is going on with onroad ? is the airport track still being used ?
I heard that the Michi track is suffering from low turnout, so what is going to be done to stimulate onroad running or do we wait and let the usual cycle run its course. 8)
Just food for thought but the flyboys always seem to successfully run their club without any lulls meaning they constantly
run so maybe we should learn from them or better yet if all aspects of R/C fell under one umbrella can you imagine how
far we could take it. :-)

We are attempting to get the MIshi track going again. We have extended the track with the permission of the owners.

There will be more posted on this shortly.

I wish there was a new set-up, same ole small tight up track. That slightly new layout was only up for 1 weekend, have not seen it since.

If we got a full extension onto the other parking lot we could have such a nice track!

Here is 1 of 3 tracks I drew up. Its out of proportion but it can fit in the 2 parking lots. would be a nice fun track IMO.

drivers stand would have to raise up too. the current one is like 3ft high or tinsy higher.

It's not as easy as you might think. I'm just reminding you that you have the ability to drive your onroad cars in any parking lot your choosing. Likewise you always have the ability to drive your offroad cars in your own backyard.
However, airplanes and choppers still require large dedicated fields (for safe operation).
There isn't any clear defined standard (here in Jamaica governing the use of R/C boats either

After saying all this, there will always be this 'segregation' between the various groups.
